Georgia Dome Information

Georgia Dome
1 Georgia Dome Dr. NW • Atlanta, GA 30313 • 404.223.4636

The multi-purpose facility, which opened in August of 1992, can seat up to 71,250. The Dome Sparkles and draws applause even from the pundits who said they'd never root for a team in, or even go inside, an enclosed stadium. Unlike most other domes, this one doesn't resemble an Erector Set. Atlanta's indoor playground has a billowy roof and attractive teal colors on the outside; more than 150 trees dot the property, and mammoth windows allow natural light to fill the interior walkways.

It gets even better inside. Seats, even in the upper-deck corners, are angled so spectators can see the field without having to turn their bodies, and the roof is supported with cables, so no pillars obstruct the view.

Parking
Traffic is not a huge hassle, even an hour before game time, because city officials discourage fans from driving to the Dome. But if you want to drive, the Georgia Dome advertises 17,000 spaces available in the vicinity of the Dome. However, unless you have a luxury-suite with a parking pass to the Gold or Green lots, or you want to arrive three hours early and pay $10 or $15 at a private lot, don't try parking at the Georgia Dome.

If you want to pay $3 and don't mind a 15 minute walk, you can leave your car in the parking decks at Underground Atlanta (see Atlanta Attractions).

Weather

Because of the Domed stadium, fans can't enjoy the splendid fall Sunday afternoons, but they also don't have to brave the chill that comes from the blustery weather that can overtake Atlanta in December. See the bottom of the page for current weather conditions.

Concessions

You are not allowed to bring food and beverages into the Dome, but the Food Court is well stocked. Whatever you want, you can probably find: Mexican and deli food, pizza, ice cream, salads, and so on; the Varsity Burger is a local favorite.

A variety of imported beers are available on the Executive Club level, and club-level ticketholders can have a cold one brought to their seat. The Kickers Bar on the lower-level concourse offers the same selection and is open to all ticketholders. (Alcohol rules may change for college games)
